Water tower receives exterior maintenance.

Work to resurface and paint the Bridgeview Water Tower is officially underway. This project includes cleaning, repairing, and resurfacing the interior of the water tower, making this the first time in about 25 years that workers are inside the tower. The difficult but necessary task ensures the tower will properly store water for use by our community.

Observers may have noticed a large crane near the tower carefully lowering materials to workers as they began the technical process of removing and reinstalling affixed cell phone relays on the outside of the tower. Workers made more progress as they added an FAA compliant LED light to the very top for clear visibility for all planes passing overhead. The modernization process ensures little details like the proper LED lighting will sufficiently bring Bridgeview’s water tower up to date with the latest requirements and technological advancements. Workers will also be cleaning and repainting the tower’s exterior a brilliant blue, giving the tower a fresh new look and adding to the beauty of our community.

These vital upgrades to the Bridgeview Water Tower bring both form and function, representing improvements worth nearly one million dollars. Updating the tower rounds out the millions of dollars of investments in Bridgeview’s water infrastructure that included repairs and upgrades to the ground-level and underground water tanks as well as the removal of 100% of lead pipes in our village. The tower is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, ensuring Bridgeview’s water infrastructure remains able to store and transport clean, safe drinking water for the entire community for years to come.
