In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary and Memorial Day, American flags have been installed along 71st Street, which adjoins Bridgeview’s SeatGeek Stadium, and Harlem Avenue. The flags extend vertically, showing the fullness of the stars and stripes to all local traffic.
“As we always do in Bridgeview, we honor the Memorial Day holiday,” explained Bridgeview Mayor Steven Landek. “This year, we also celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This special semiquincentennial—marked by our 2026 Bridgeview Vehicle Sticker—falls on the 4th of July!
More than 50% of Hometown Hero banners and American flags were lost or damaged due to the recent storms, but most have been replaced!
