The Chicago Fire returned to Bridgeview in 2025 for more success-filled, crowd-packing soccer matches that earned them a spot in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Wild Card game! The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and three home games each brought out the enthusiastic local fans that have been coming to Bridgeview’s stadium since its inception as Toyota Park in 2006. The Chicago Fire FC vs. LAFC match proved to be an especially huge match as thousands of LA and Fire fans packed the stadium to witness the MLS Debut of South Korean Soccer Star Son Heung-min who took the field at the 61st minute and went on to score a goal!

SeatGeek Stadium proved to be a good luck charm throughout the Fire’s season, with the team beating Detroit 4-0 in the Open Cup on May 7th, drawing LAFC 2-2 in a ferocious battle on August 9th, defeating St. Louis City in style 3-2 on August 16th, and finishing their final SeatGeek Stadium regular season home game of 2025 with another action-packed 3-2 victory over New England Revolution on September 6th. The success catapulted them to the Wild Card playoff match at SeatGeek where they defeated Orlando City SC 3-1 on October 22nd! The history-making match ended an eight-year drought for the Fire and gave fans hope for a comeback championship run. While Chicago fell 0-3 to Philadelphia Union in Round 1 on November 1st at our stadium, the beloved home team showed they have a path to victory in 2026.

The Chicagoland soccer culture hosts some of the most spirited fans of the sport, and Bridgeview’s stadium continues to be an amazing outlet for the goal-scoring passion accompanying Major League Soccer matches. The Village of Bridgeview congratulates the Chicago Fire on a well-fought season, appreciates the stadium patrons, and looks forward to hosting more exciting events in the future.
