At the January 13th Village of Bridgeview Board Meeting, Mayor Landek and the Board of Trustees appointed both Joseph Keeter and Daniel Matuszak to the position of Bridgeview Police Commander.
Both Commander Keeter and Commander Matuszak have decades of law enforcement service and have served Bridgeview well for years. Their hard work earned them their appointments, which serve to maintain proper leadership in the ranks of the Bridgeview Police Department.
The Village of Bridgeview congratulates the commanders and wishes them continued safety and success in their new roles.
Adding to Bridgeview public safety measures, the Bridgeview Police Department has now acquired a new FLOCK safety camera. What is a FLOCK camera? They are license plate and car readers which are in many communities throughout Chicago and form a network of information about car traffic.
The flock camera reads every license plate, partial plate, car type, and color to form a database and holds the information for 30 days. Thereafter the material is cleared, and a new day is added.
There are 9 cameras in Bridgeview connected to the FLOCK network, and they are on the job 24 hours per day while mounted on various poles. When there is a serious crime, the flock network is put into action accumulating car movements and searching the cameras for any sign of the car in question.
The system has proved beneficial in various situations, and Bridgeview is excited to have access to any weapon against crime!!
