The 2024 Summer Smash returns to the Village of Bridgeview on the first weekend of Summer June 21-23 kicking off the season. Last year Summer Smash drew in crowds of over 100,000 thousand guests throughout its 3-day duration. Praised for the ease of access and amenities that only Bridgeview’s SeatGeek Stadium can offer the fans of the festival are clamoring to come back. During Summer Smash 2023, Mark Braboy of the Chicago Sun-Times wrote, “I almost wept through a blissful smile when [Kid Cudi] performed ‘The Prayer,’” a testament to the top-of-the-line artists and incredible experiences people gather for at the renowned music festival.
Last year’s Summer Smash was considered by many to be one of the best independent hip-hop fests in the Midwest with its awesome lineup of artists that included headliners Kid Cudi, Future, and Playboi Carti who gave their fans legendary performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night respectively. The other fantastic artists filled the Stadium with an amazing energy that kept the crowd wildly engaged throughout the day. Hungry fans enjoyed the eats from high-quality vendors, a few of which came locally from Chicago. Festival goers also loved the opportunity to pose with colorful larger-than-life art installations scattered around the expansive Stadium grounds. What does all the hype and excitement mean for Bridgeview residents?
Residents need to plan ahead and expect heavy traffic on June 14th, 15th, and 16th. GETTING YOUR VEHICLE STICKER IS A MUST to enter or park in residential areas of Bridgeview north of 79th street. Gates will be closed, and access points will be monitored to keep festival traffic out of our residential streets. If you plan to have guests stay the night during that weekend, be sure to pick up a guest parking pass at the Village of Bridgeview Customer Service Office.
