Firefighters review the SeatGeek Stadium stage pyrotechnics to ensure they are up to code.

The Fire Departments of Bridgeview, Burbank, Roberts Park, and Bedford Park reviewed the safety plans in place before the Summer Smash festival to ensure that medical facilities, evacuation routes, festival monitoring equipment, and stage pyrotechnics were operational and up to code. The joint effort by the Fire Departments of neighboring communities ensured that there would be no lapses in coverage for the communities in case of emergencies while some firefighters and emergency medical technicians were stationed at the festival grounds during the festival hours. Personnel monitored the crowds and festival grounds for any issues requiring their attention throughout the three-day event. A large mass-casualty ambulance also stood ready for use at the Bridgeview Fire Department in case any big incidents requiring medical attention occurred. The diligence of our firefighters ensured that Summer Smash festivalgoers enjoyed the festival while remaining hydrated, safe, and able to access proper medical care when needed.
