The Village of Bridgeview Board recently purchased a 2025 Wheeled Coach Ambulance for $300,000, adding to the fleet of emergency vehicles used daily by our Bridgeview Fire Department. Chief Grzadziel gave Mayor Landek and the Board of Trustees a rundown on the importance of the ambulance and its functionality as they inspected the new vehicle.
“Our new ambulance uses a liquid-based strut system that is designed to reduce the impacts of bumps in the road,” explained the Chief. “The technology improvement makes for a slightly smoother ride for our drivers and patients.”
The new ambulance pairs with the recently added refurbished ambulance to keep the fleet healthy. The Board of Trustees joined the Chief to inspect the refurbished ambulance and ensure it was ready to return to service. Remounting an ambulance’s framework onto a new chassis is a cost-effective way of maintaining the vehicle when possible.
“We always want our Fire Department in top shape to serve our residents,” said Mayor Landek. “That means that our Board invests wisely in equipping our emergency personnel for the difficult tasks they do.”
