At the Monday, May 12th Bridgeview Public Library Board Meeting, Trustees Alice Porfirio, Alice Vilimek, Randal Carben, and Anna Ziaja-Castillo were sworn into office by Village of Bridgeview Clerk John Altar. Upon receiving their official Cook County Clerk’s Office certifications as Library Trustees, Board President Alice Porfirio and the rest of the trustees went to work paying bills, scheduling meetings with potential contractors, and discussing maintenance projects for the library. Clerk Altar listened in on the meeting after his role had finished because he too previously served as a Bridgeview Public Library Trustee.

“I served on the Board during multiple renovation and modernization projects that expanded the library over the years,” said Clerk Altar as he explained the importance of the Board’s work. “Whenever there’s a problem or a project that needs to be completed at the library, the Board gets to work, and that’s what they’re doing right now so that residents can continue to enjoy the services the library offers.”

The Village of Bridgeview congratulates the library trustees and looks forward to their continued good work for the residents of Bridgeview.
