During the month of April, Bridgeview Police officers joined efforts with officers from the Summit Police, Chicago Police, Bedford Park Police, Cook County Sheriff’s Police, Chicago Ridge Police, Palos Hills Police, Worth Police, Palos Heights Police, and Orland Park Police to make Harlem Avenue safer for motorists. All departments utilized federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The Bridgeview Police Department used 23 hours of grant funds and issued 33 citations for speed (13), distracted driving (9), seatbelt (1) and other moving violations (10). 56 additional citations were issued during other working hours.

Most importantly, the Bridgeview Police Department reported a reduction of 27% less traffic crashes in April than had been reported in March.
