The City of Chicago raised water rates again for all of their suburban customers. Bridgeview purchases water from Chicago and is faced with this unpleasant news of a water rate hike. Trustee Baste, Chairman of the Finance Committee, said, “The Chicago rate hikes have been occurring yearly for the past decade. Bridgeview has no choice but to pass on the increase to Bridgeview water customers.”
This year the increase will be slightly over 3%, and the new rate will be reflected on the May billing.
