Local elected officials cut the ribbon together to mark the grand reopening!

On Sunday, September 15th, local elected officials cut the ribbon for the Grand Reopening of Lieb Park after months of construction adding brand new park equipment. The ceremony was accompanied by School District 122’s annual Back 2 School Bash.

“The Lieb Park Grand Reopening is evidence that when all local units of government [Village, Park District, Library, and School District] participate in unison, it provides a greater benefit for the residents of our community,” said Bridgeview Park District Vice President Ken Pannaralla Jr.

With hundreds in attendance, fun was in the air. Multiple bouncy houses and other inflatables like an obstacle course drew crowds. Park district officials gave away free school supplies and toys to families throughout the event to support the students returning to school, and attendees also enjoyed free popcorn, hot dogs, and water bottles.

Stands were also set up for local libraries, activities, and Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) Troop 652, enabling residents to sign up their children for the Scouts and learn more about the resources available to them in School District 122. Children also enthusiastically had their faces painted in wonderous colors and designs.

As Bridgeview Mayor Steven Landek, State Sen. Mike Porfirio, Bridgeview Library Trustee Ana Ziaja-Castillo, School District 122 officials, and the Bridgeview Park District Commissioners cut the ceremonial ribbon, children ran straight to the playground. Smiles were seen, laughs were heard, and a day of family fun was brought to Lieb Park. The Village of Bridgeview thanks those who came out in support of the Lieb Park Reopening and the Back 2 School Bash.
