Cellular antennas have been moved from the Water Tower to the temporary cell tower in preparation of exterior Water Tower updates.

Work to clean, repair, and resurface the interior of the Bridgeview Water Tower progressed smoothly, making this the first time in about 25 years that workers have been inside the tower. The difficult but necessary task ensures the tower will properly store water for use by our community for years to come.

Village of Bridgeview Trustee and Chairman of the Public Works Committee Gary Lewis detailed the status of the project. The interior work is now complete. The technical process of removing the cell antennas on the Water Tower and affixing them to the temporary cell tower was recently completed as well, allowing for the exterior repairs and painting that should take three to four weeks.

“The Village of Bridgeview’s years of financial investment in our water infrastructure has made us an example for surrounding communities to follow,” added Mayor Steven Landek. “We want our residents to have safe, affordable water for generations to come, and that means investing in reliable infrastructure to better serve us all.”

The updated and soon-to-be repainted Water Tower will shine as a brilliant Bridgeview blue to represent the continued investment in our water infrastructure and the vibrance of our community.
