E-Waste

The Village of Bridgeview Community Services and Public Works Departments will be collecting all E-waste for disposal. Call the Village Hall at 708-594-2525 to coordinate the pickup from your home and somebody will be there within 24 hours to pick it up. Acceptable items include personal computers, keyboards, printers, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, CD players, laser disc players, CB and two-way radios, telephones and cell phones, paper shredders, laptops, monitors, computer mice, radios, DVDs and CDs, video games, answering and fax machines, scanners, adding machines, and microwave ovens. No hazardous waste, light bulbs, or glass is accepted.  Bring only residentially generated items. No business electronic waste allowed.  Delete personal information from hard drives. Bulk Items

  • Disassembled swing-sets and playground equipment; metal and wood; in pieces weighing less than 50 lbs. each and in segments no more than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter.
  • Carpet rolls up to 4 feet in length, 2 feet in diameter and up to lbs. pounds in weight; not to exceed 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Do it yourself home improvement materials (wood; drywall; paneling) provided that individual items are no longer than 4 feet in length, 2 feet in width and up to 50 lbs. This needs to be bundled and tied up for easy collection. Loose material will not be collected.
  • Bulk amounts of general household waste needs to be easy to collect, and easy to dispose of. General loose material left at the curb without the proper bundling will be left for the proper preparation.

Branch Chipping Services

Bridgeview Public Works offers a branch pick-up/chipping service free to village residents for branches longer than 4 ft. Put these branches with the cut side facing the street. Do NOT bundle them.
 
During the months when chipper service is available, the weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday: North of 87th Street, West of tracks
Tuesday: North of 87th Street, East of Tracks
Wednesday: South of 87th Street

Cleanup Days

The next Cleanup Day for the Village of Bridgeview is Fall Cleanup Day on September 28th.
 
To participate in Bridgeview’s Cleanup Day simply bring any number of neatly contained garbage items or bulk items to the curb before 6 A.M. on the Cleanup Day.
 
Oil or gasoline must be drained from lawnmowers, trimmers, or other types of machines. Refrigerators & freezers must be drained. Paint cans must be dried using sand or kitty litter before disposal.
