24 hours per day, 365 days a year, Bridgeview honors our military heroes with public banners. These are residents of Bridgeview and family members of Bridgeview residents who have served in the military.
Mayor Steven Landek said, “Currently there are 40 banners of patriots on Harlem Avenue. This is a salute to real people who we have known and loved, who have served in the military to really protect democracy.”This is the 4th year of the program, and as the banners are damaged by the weather, Bridgeview rushes to replace them.
So, when someone asks you what Bridgeview is doing to show support for America, remind them to walk down Harlem Ave. and admire all 40 of the heroic banners. They’ll see what real patriots and defenders of America look like!
And just like last year, American flags will be out along Harlem and at every municipal building for Memorial Day. Let’s follow the lead of our 2026 Village of Bridgeview Vehicle Stickers and honor America’s 250th Anniversary!
