At the April 2nd Village of Bridgeview Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Gerardo Bustillos as a Firefighter/Paramedic of the Bridgeview Fire Department. Bustillos is a young resident who was inspired to join the Department after his family was personally helped by Bridgeview Fire Lt. Rey Cardenas, and he stood alongside Firefighters Matt Lasak, Dylan Siroky, and Yousef Razick for a swearing-in ceremony that brought out friends, family, and community members. Each firefighter has shown their desire and dedication to serve the Village of Bridgeview, which prides itself on delivering quality service to all residents. At the meeting, the Board also approved the appointment of Lateral Hire Zohaib Zaib as a Bridgeview Police Officer, pending all background checks and testing as required.
“It’s great to see young people with Bridgeview ties serving their community as Bridgeview Firefighters,” said Mayor Steven Landek. “The bright future and high quality of our Fire Department depends upon local residents passionate about saving lives taking on this important role for the public good.”
